Lake Tahoe Marathon

You can get around Lake Tahoe with our local bus system quite easily:

If you fly into Reno take the South Tahoe Express from the airport.
Take the special Marathon Lake and Course Tour bus on Friday to circle the lake,
Take the free charter buses from the Horizon to the Tahoe Queen for the Sunset Pasta Cruise
Take the free Marathon event Shuttle Buses from the Horizon to the various start lines race day,
and post event shuttles  from the Pope Beach finish line back to the Horizon with drop offs along the way
Spectator buses for your friends or spouse to watch you run the marathon or half marathon
Special extended bus schedules to Pope Beach for your spectator friends who choose to sleep in and catch you finish later in the afternoon. See below.

BlueGO offers door to door service anytime at South Lake Tahoe.
Call 530-541-7149 for door to door service. ($3 per person within the city)
Regular bus route service is $1.75 one way-and an All Day pass is $3

BlueGO will also operate a special Race Day route from the Horizon Resort Casino to the finish line at Pope Beach. This is a special Marathon Event route for race day.

Special Race Day Service for Marathon Spectators to get to the finish line at Pope Beach.

  1. Special bus service will start at 8 a.m. from the Horizon Casino Resort and will operate until the last bus leaves Pope Beach at 4 p.m.

  2. Bus Service will also pick up passengers from any bus stop along Highway 50 on the way to Pope Beach.

  3. An All Day BlueGo pass is $3 and may be purchased from the driver.
