The 2nd  Emerald Bay Half Marathon
 September 28, 2012   7 a.m. 

  • Starts with the Emerald Bay Marathoners and Tahoe Triple Marathoners.
  •  It  starts at the top of Emerald Bay where the 10K will start on Sunday. 
  • This spectacular start area can be viewed in the movie "City of Angels" where Meg Ryan bikes down the narrow spine of the ridge over looking Emerald Bay, Cascade Lake, and Tahoe itself.
  • Rent the film and see it in the last 15 minutes of the film.
  • This may be the most beautiful run you ever do.
  • The first 3 miles are all down hill or flat and beautiful, on the road or bike path running over Taylor Creek and through Historical Valhalla and Camp Richardson.
  • The final 6 miles are flat and end near Lakeside Beach where the Kayak and Swims events are taking place.
  • Your custom Emerald Bay Half Marathon finishers medal will be awarded there.
  • Shuttle Bus from Embassy Suites at 6 AM to Emerald Bay start line

 Consider staying at our Half Marathon sponsor and our Race Headquarters, the Embassy Suites  at Lake Tahoe.  Call 800-988-9820 for reservations and mentions the marathon. The finish line of the the Emerald Bay Half Marathon is in front of the Royal Valhalla Motel and across the street from the beach and about 5 blocks from the Embassy Suites. The Holiday Inn Express is also nearby.

Packet Pickup is at 4PM at the Embassy Suites just after the Tahoe Triple Marathoners pick up there packet. You might want to join them for the buffet dinner. See details here.
