You may run, walk, swim, paddle, pedal or swing one or more of the many events during Lake Tahoe Marathon Week of Events  5 day week.

The Lake Tahoe Marathon starts on Commons Beach in Tahoe City and finishes on Pope Beach near South Lake Tahoe. There are two a la carte different course marathons run on Friday and Saturday as part of the Tahoe Triple Marathon or Super Triple.

New for 2010 Registration processing fees are included in your entry fee. You see what you get. Friday night registration and orientation for the Saturday Bike Races from 5 to 8 PM.   The Tahoe Double Dare is a one time special event. Is two laps around the lake (2 x 72.2 miles) in opposite directions. Swim distances for the 2010 events  will be 1/2 mile, 1 mile, and 2.5 miles this year. The Triple or a la carte Marathons:    There will be a different finishers medal for the each of the 3 different marathons     we do on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Finisher’s medals are giving to all of our finishers and an event Wind shirts to all of our registered athletes.


We offer optional fun events for runners and family. On Saturday take the Around the Lake & Course tour and that afternoon enjoy  our Sunset Pasta Cruise; and Race Day have your family and friends watch you from the spectator buses as they follow you down the course and sign up for our optional Gourmet Finish Line Brunch for a post race feast.

If you are tough enough, try our 72 Mile Midnight Express Ultra Marathon, or our 3-Day Tahoe Triple Marathon. The Tahoe 72 Mile Ultra is one lap around Lake Tahoe starting at 10 PM and finishing with the regular marathon. The Tahoe Triple will measure your heart and desire with 3 different marathons in 3 days run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, covering the whole lake and 2 states. And if you are completely out of your mind or one of the toughest people in the world try our SUPER TRIPLE MARATHON. We also a 50 miler to qualify for Western States and a 72 Mile 2-person Relay.

We also have Speed Golf on Thursday. Play the 18 hole course with a 3 club limit. Add your score to your time and compare.

The Lake Tahoe Triathlon is a one of a kind event with Kayaking or Swimming on Friday; choice of cycling distances on Saturday; and a choice of runs on Sunday. And any of our triathlon events can be run a la carte or as a designer Triathlon. Just take your choice of any three, except for the Triple Marathon.

All the runs are point to point and scenic from start to finish. The marathon, 20 Miler, and Half are run along the west shore of Lake Tahoe and include challenging hills around spectacular Emerald Bay. The 10K which begins at Inspiration Point over looking Emerald Bay is a very scenic 99% downhill run. The beauty of Lake Tahoe will take your breath away even if the runs don’t!

The Optimist Kids Fun Runs are Saturday, free and come with a finisher’s metal, hotdog and drink.
