women had 28 minute head start with a $1000 for first and $500 for first place of

opposite sex.

2002 Ran from Tahoe City Golf Course to Pope Beach. Expo at

2003 Ran from Tahoe City Golf Course to Baldwin Beach. Expo at Horizon
2003 men and women started together at 9:30

2003 First 3-day Triathlon Kayak or Swim/ Bike 72/ 10K or Half Marathon or Marathon
2004 Added 35 mile Bike race from Tahoe City
2004 Elite women only receive 27 minute head start.
2004 Back to Commons Beach to Pope Beach regular course. Expo

2005 changed marathon walk event to Tahoe 20 mile walk-run
2006 First year for Tahoe Super Triple and 72 Mile ultra around the lake
2007 Snowed from Midnight until 2
AM before race. 72 Mile Ultra started at midnight with snow flurries.
Rebecca Eckland wins women overall running her first marathon. Amy Jenkinson won
the cash because she entered into and won the elite field.
2008 Kristi Arthur won the man vs woman challenge with a 30 minute head start. 72 mile bike record broken
There was an earlier lake Tahoe Marathon which was run for 7 or 8 years in the late 70's and early 80's. It was run from Incline Village up Spooner Summit and back. We are looking for documentation of results, old race brochures, t-shirts, etc.. If you have any information please email us. or call 530-544-7095
