Lake Tahoe Marathon June 14, 2005 Newsletter

1. In a few days we will be making a calculated guesstimate as to the sizes and number of wind shirts we will need for next October. If you wish a guaranteed size please enter before next Monday June 20th midnight. Your guaranteed size will be waiting for you at the Expo when you pick up your race number. To register now
   
   The wind shirt material is dyed in China to our custom color and shipped to Alabama for cutting and sewing.  At this time of the year only about 25% of those of you who will eventually register for one of the marathon events has actually done so. This year we will guarantee sizes to the people who have entered by next Monday June 20th, midnight. These shirts will be set aside and kept for runners to pick up at the Expo.  Runners who register after June 20th may pick up their shirt on a first come basis at the Expo at the Horizon Casino Resort on Oct 6 or 7th or at the finish line.
    
2. Our new events are waiting you. We will do Extreme Golf (Speed Golf) on Wednesday morning at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course. Run the short 4000 yd. course while carrying 3 golf clubs and playing the 18 holes. Your time and golf score will be added together. This is for fun and laughs.
    
3. This year we have added a one day Ironman Triathlon on Thursday. We put it together for an English chap who is doing it for the English version of "Make a Wish" for terminally ill children. We invite any tough gal or guy to join him for this probably one time event.
    
4. Our 3-Day Triathlon takes place Oct. 6-8 with a choice of swimming or kayaking on Thursday; Bike 72 or 35 miles on Friday; and finish with a choice of the 10K, Half Marathon or Marathon on Saturday. Any of our events can be done a la carte.
    
5. The Tahoe Triple Marathon is over a third full of the maximum limit of 150. You can also do the Thursday or Friday events a la carte as well. Thursday and Friday events are each half California and half Nevada. 50 state club members can choose which state to use towards their 50 state goal.
    
6. The Sunset Pasta Cruise,  Spectator Bus, and Course Tour, and Gourmet Finish Brunch are fun optional events you may want to sign up for.  You may purchase tickets now by going to our web pages above or  via email or fax with your credit card info. 
    
7. Please take a look at Marathon Week schedule and notice that I have a race director's run on Tuesday behind my house into the woods and along Cold Creek. If you are in town early, come run with me, or maybe do a run with one of the other local runners on one their favorite runs during race week..
    
8. I hope your next event will be our new Maui Surf & Sand Half Marathon on Maui,  next January 15th. A great time of the year to visit Maui and leave the cold winter of the mainland.
    
9. To honor our military the Lake Tahoe Marathon give a 50% registration discount to all active military personnel with active ID on all of our events. Please pass this information on to your military friends and relatives. See details
