Where and when can I pick up my Bib & swag?

At the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino

We do not mail them out. If you get into town late and miss bib pickup, your bib will be at the start line. Swag at the finish line.

Is there a gear check-in at the start line?

Yes. Each race has a system. But do not put your valuables in your race bag.

Can someone else pick up my race number for me?

Yes. With a note and a copy of your driver's license. But you don't need to, because your race bib will also be at the start line if you can not make it to the expo. You will need your ID in both cases.

Can I walk my race?

Yes, as long as you finish by the 3 PM cutoff time on Sunday. And 1 PM on Friday & Saturday. Enjoy your day.

Can I take my dog?

No. Too dangerous for your dog and your fellow runners.

Can I take my kid in a stroller?

No on Friday and Saturday because of traffic issues.

Yes on Sunday for the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. These races have very little traffic concern.

Can I use headphones?

We advise against it. You need to listen to your surroundings for safety. And be able to talk to your fellow runners.

Is there a minimum age?

No.  But minors must have a parent sign their waiver.

Where shall I park on Race Day?

On Sunday, park at the Golden Nugget. If you sign up for the special hotel rate, your parking is free. If not, there is a charge, but if you spend $25 there after the race, you can get it validated. You can also use the free Lake Link App and get a free ride to the Golden Nugget to catch your bus to the start line. And vice versa from the finish line.

Senior Discount: How do I get it? The 10% senior discount is automatically deducted when the computer detects your age.

Is there a Military Discount?  Yes. The 20% Military Discount is on the honor system for registration, but you need a military ID to pick up your race bib.

Is there a Nurses Discount? Yes. Nurses this year receive a flat $75 entry fee. Each year, we honor certain groups; in the past, we have honored teachers, cops, nurses, and firemen. You may nominate a group next year by emailing the Ring Master: mailto:leswright@sbcglobal.net

Can I get Multiple discounts or promo codes?  No. The computer will accept only one discount or promo code. It will apply the best one.

Where do the Buses depart from?

South side of the Golden Nugget Hotel (the CA side of the hotel).

Where does the 5K shuttle depart on Sunday?  The Lakeside Beach finish line at Azure and Park, and then swings by the Golden Nugget for pickups. See the timeline

Our other race:

The Maui Oceanfront Marathon is January 17, 2027

https://www.RunMaui.com

MLK holiday weekend

Where do the race proceeds go?

The Lake Tahoe Marathon and the Maui Oceanfront Marathon are 501(c)(3) nonprofits.

Each is an endowment (like the Nobel Prize) that awards money each year from the endowment's profits to various schools, Aid Stations, teams, other nonprofits, and organizations. The endowments are invested in Vanguard Mutual Funds controlled by each event's Board of Directors. They are designed to grow in perpetuity. The goal is also to keep race fees low.
