Bluff Creek Marina
I’ve been planning a weekend trip to Bluff Creek Marina and wanted to get some advice on solid fishing spots in that area. I’ve only been once before, and while the lake is stunning, I didn’t have much luck with bass. I’m especially interested in spots that are decent early morning or just before sunset. Do you all anchor in a particular cove or try your luck near the cliffs?

I’ve been fishing around Bluff Creek Marina for the last two summers, so I might be able to help. Early mornings are perfect near the rocky drop-offs to the west of Hell’s Gate – I’ve had the best luck there with largemouth bass. They seem to hang around the submerged trees in that area. Around sunset, check out the shallow coves north of the marina where the water warms up slightly — crappie love it there, especially with live minnows.
Also, if you're not bringing your own boat, check out these boat rentals. They're super convenient — we usually grab a pontoon from there, and it saves a lot of hassle. Plus, the boats are clean and well-maintained, and they give you a pretty solid rundown of the lake spots if you ask. It’s really the easiest way to get to some of the better, less crowded fishing areas that are harder to reach from shore. Hope this helps a bit!
