A support crew is strongly suggested for your transportation needs, encouragement, nutrition and picture taking. The Lakeside Marathon course starts in California at Lakeside Beach at 6230' and goes up to 7000' at Spooner Summit and back down  to near  lake level at 6300' and finishes in Nevada at Incline Village. There will be at least six Aid Stations along the marathon route, approximately every 4 miles. Our mile markers read "miles to go".

You should use a headlamp for the first hour of the race and safety flashers. Drop off headlights at the first aid station and you can retrieve at the finish line.

You must follow  the Rules of the Road as we run on the shoulder or bike path for this race staying always on the left side facing traffic when not on the bike path.

The Lakeside Marathon is joined by the Nevada Half Marathon at near Spooner Summit - the half way mark of the Lakeside Marathon course. Both of these courses end at Incline Village.  The Lakeside  marathon is basically run a few hundred yards in CA and 99.8% in NV, meaning it can be counted for either state in your quest to run all 50 states. This race is also the 2nd  leg of the Tahoe Triple Marathon.

This race is run on the shoulder of the road facing traffic or on the adjacent bike paths. In some spots the shoulder is very narrow.
