A support crew is strongly suggested for your transportation needs, encouragement, nutrition, and picture-taking. The Lakeside Marathon course starts in California at Lakeside Beach at 6230' and goes up to 7000' at Spooner Summit. It then returns to near lake level at 6300' and finishes in Nevada at Incline Village. There will be at least six Aid Stations along the marathon route, approximately every 4 miles. Our mile markers read "miles to go. "

For the first hour of the race, you should wear a headlamp and safety flashers. You can drop off headlights at the first aid station and retrieve them at the finish line.

For this race, you must follow the Rules of the Road as you run on the shoulder or bike path, always staying on the left side and facing traffic when not on the bike path.
The Nevada Half Marathon joins the Lakeside Marathon near Spooner Summit, the halfway mark of the course. Both of these courses end at Incline Village. The Lakeside Marathon is run a few hundred yards in CA and 99.8% in NV, meaning it can be counted for either state in your quest to run all 50 states. This race is also the 2nd leg of the Tahoe Triple Marathon.

This race is run on the shoulder of the road facing traffic or on the adjacent bike paths. In some spots, the shoulder is very narrow. Going through Cave Rock Tunnel, one traffic lane is closed and dedicated to our runners.

(New)From Glenbrook to Spooner Summit, one lane is closed and dedicated to our runners.
