Covid-19 Updates and Race Thoughts...

  • Updated Sept 11, 2021

  • Because of the smoke and fire in the Lake Tahoe basin we have postponed the LTM for 3 weeks.

  • Runners may roll over their entry to our next event in 2022.

  • Runners may also run their event virtually instead.

  • Tahoe has a fire still burning in the Tahoe basin.  The Smoke is dangerous. Evacuations for part of Tahoe are still in effect. Your Ring Master was evacuated for 9 nights.

  • See the air quality at: http://www.PurpleAir.com

  • The Dixie far at Susanville has been blowing smoke into Tahoe for several weeks.

  • It is very doubtful that we will be smoke free by our orginal date of Oct 8-10.

  • We are being dealt lemons and will make lemonade by moving our dates to Halloween.

  • We are 99% certain by October the Covid Pandemic will be far in the rear view mirror. We should all have had our vaccine shots by then.

  • To pick up your race bib you will have to show your vaccination card or show a negative Covid 19 test that was taken within 3 days of picking up your race bib.

  • You will not have to wear a mask when you run.

  • You will have to wear a mask when you ride the bus and when you pick up your race bib.

  • All Police, Firemen, and EMT's (First Responders) will have a special entry fee of $60 to the first 50 to register. Please spread the word.

  • Those of you who  registered for 2020 have automatically been  transferred to  Oct 29-31, 2021.

  • If we have to cancel again your entry fee will be rolled over to the next year, which now is Oct 7-9, 2022.

  • You also will have the option to transferring to the Maui Oceanfront Marathon which runs next time on January 16, 2022. Contact the Ring Master to do that.

  • Your entry fee will not be refunded if we have to cancel for any reason. It is easier for the runner to loose and entry fee than the Race to go bankrupt. We are a non profit event. And your Race Director works for free.

  • If you are concerned about a refund do not enter until late.

  • Below is the start of the 2019 Emerald Bay Half Marathon.
